The Dárcio Lira School’s Three Pillars
Respect for Cultural Traditions
1-PRESERVATION OF THE CONCEPT OF MARTIAL ART: we seek to preserve the deepest philosophical essence of what truly is a Martial Art; rescuing countless concepts and customs from this ancient Tradition, not yielding to the modern tendency to simply teach fighting sports.
2-PRESERVATION OF THE REIHO: we seek to preserve the ritualism and symbolism of the Oriental Dojo. In addition, we emphasize the practice of Reiho also outside the Dojo, as a symbol of identification and incorporation of the teachings of our School.
Technical
1-COMPLETE TRAINING: we aim to give the student a global knowledge of body-to-body combat (according to the roots of Jiu Jitsu), so we give a lot of emphasis to the modern ground training (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), but not forgetting the falls, self defense, traumatic strikes and ancient Ryu techniques.
2-TRAINING DYNAMICS: Although we have a basic undergraduate program, unlike many martial schools, we do not limit our training system to this "x" number of techniques and do not restrict the way they are passed to a single mode. Thus, the dynamics of classes and the technical improvement of our School's struggle do not become limited. We have an orthodox model / class pattern, but we also allow for countless variations.
PHILOSOPHICAL
1- BUSHIDÔ: We emphasize Bushido practice as a model of good behavior inside and outside the dojo.
2-CONNECTION WITH SPIRITUALITY: we stimulate through constant lectures and exercises of philosophical reflection, the search for harmony with God, with life and inner peace as a greater goal to be desired by our disciples.
3-COMMITMENT TO GOOD: We encourage the development of a sense of social responsibility as a priority. Thus, environmental and humanitarian actions are always practiced and stimulated in our environment.
4-FEELING CLAN: we have the School as a great Family where everyone should like and at least respect each other, treating each other cordially. We do not allow arrogance or disrespect amongst the members. On the contrary, by our differentiated behavioral values, we have seen fraternal friendships arise that go beyond the boundaries of the Dojo.
Conclusion
These foundations are present in the philosophical view of Mestre Dárcio Lira from the beginning. Now we give it only a more detailed literary codification, for we are still adherents of the initiatory tradition and even to try to prevent profligate charlatans from using such texts to impersonate wise and balanced "masters" in journalistic interviews or website materials , as we have witnessed lately. Sometimes we have had the surprise of seeing our texts copied integrally (including this one), having only been substituted the name of the author, which in itself already demonstrates an absurd mal-caratismo. However, it is enough to observe the conduct of these "masters" and their students (especially outside the mats), to easily perceive the illegitimacy and contradiction of what they profess in theory for what they actually teach in practice. Our advice is: do not just believe what you read, watch or listen to, rather, patiently seek to know closely and analyze coldly the history and sincerity of the teacher / academy where you want to train. The originality of our ideas is explicit , just a little impartial research to prove that what we preach today, we have always been doing with conviction since the foundation of our Institution, and not only after it has become fashionable to speak in education. We have always been against the "pittboy" spirit, unlike many who only went so far as to disguise such behavior after the media began to fall on top and press for a change of conduct. However, exceptions have always existed and will continue to exist in all media. And for those who sincerely are different or who have evolved during the walk of life, or who aim to do so through the correct Martial Way, here is the invitation to join. Join Our Ideal! As an example, we can cite the traditional martial gesture of "ôss" accompanied by the inclination of trunk, which from the beginning was adopted by Mestre Dárcio. Such a gesture of compliance, although universally practiced in the Martial Arts of the East, has always been a mockery among Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighters. Today, 15 years later (06/2011), because of the television program Sensei Sportv, "ôss" became fashionable, even though few really know how to lecture on the symbolic, historical and philosophical meaning of this martial fulfillment.
