Meet Sensei Darlynson Lira and Sensei Carlos Eduardo Rocha
Sensei Darlynson Lira from Fortaleza, Brazil is the oldest son of Master Darcio Lira, a 9th degree red belt. Sensei Darlynson is a 5th degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt with 22 years dedicated to martial arts and 18 years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Sensei has international experience teaching, competing, and conducting seminars in the following countries: France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and Brazil. Sensei Darlynson Lira has been leading the Darcio Lira US Fight Team to multiple victories in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu such as the Gracie Open, US Open, World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championship, and many other local tournaments.
Sensei Carlos Eduardo Rocha was born an orphan in Cabedelo, Brazil and was taken in by Dárcio Lira from whom he learned Brazilian jiu-jitsu and earned his black belt. He won around 50 regional tournaments in Brazil and Germany between 1996 and 2008 before turning to professional mixed martial arts.
In 2008 Sensei Carlos Eduardo Rocha traveled to Dresden as a corner man of German MMA pioneer Andre Balschmieter for an 8-man tournament. When Balschmieter had to step out due to injury Rocha elected to take his place. Because of numerous injuries, the tournament was dropped to four fighters, and after a quick submission victory over Johannes Kunz, Rocha found himself competing for the FFA middleweight title in only his second professional fight. Rocha won the fight by submission, over the far more experienced Steve Mensing, to become FFA Middleweight Champion and was quickly pegged as a rising star in the German MMA circuit.
Carlos Eduardo Rocha went on to gain La Onda's Manto Cup in an 8-man, one-night tournament in 2009 and was signed by the UFC soon afterward. Since signing with the UFC, Carlos Eduardo Rocha aka Ta Danado, has gone one and one with his only loss to a controversial split decision to Jake Ellenberger. Most impressively, all of his wins have come in the first round.
Recently Ta Danado has signed with manager Ed Soares, the manager of UFC champion Anderson Silva. Under the management of Soares, Ta Danado is now fighting with the Black House team that includes fighters such as Anderson Silva, José Aldo, Lyoto Machida, Antônio Rogério Nogueira, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.
